About the procedure
Chemical peeling is a procedure for removing the surface layers of the skin epithelium with the help of weak acid solutions for the purpose of rejuvenation or certain defects on the skin. Acids provide uniform exfoliation of several layers of dead cells, which promotes skin rejuvenation, stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin, and leads to the emergence of young cells. As a result of such stimulation of the skin, its tone and elasticity increase. Under the influence of acids on the skin, a superficial chemical burn occurs. The depth of the burn depends on the concentration and type of acid, exposure and individual characteristics. There are superficial, middle and deep peeling.

Types
What are the types of chemical peeling?
Superficial It is a gentle influence during which cleaning occurs at the level of several layers of keratinized cells. Due to the absence of side effects, you can go to work, study, and lead a normal lifestyle immediately after such a procedure.
Middle Such chemical peeling allows to affect the basal membrane, as well as completely destroy the stratum corneum of the skin. During the procedure, fibroblasts responsible for the production of hyaluronic acid, elastin and collagen are renewed. Peeling gives a long-lasting effect.
Deep Designed to renew the entire thickness of the skin, exfoliates the epidermis, and affects the basement membrane. It is a controlled chemical burn, after which an intensive process of tissue regeneration takes place.
How is chemical peeling performed?
Peeling is performed by a dermatologist or cosmetologist. Indications, number of sessions, concentration of acid solutions can be determined by the doctor after examining the patient. Immediately before the procedure, the skin is cleaned with special solutions for degreasing and normalizing acidity. The solution is applied with an even layer of acid, and after a few minutes a neutralizer solution is applied to the skin. After the procedure, the specialist applies a moisturizing cream to the skin. Surface chemical peeling is performed in several sessions (4-10) after 7-14 days. Between peelings, the patient may be advised to use weak acid solutions to maintain the effect.
